About Spinemobility

Spinemobility is a Not-for-Profit Research and Resource Centre that develops and tests innovative programs and tools to maximize function, improve quality of life and reduce the risk of disability caused by spine conditions and other musculoskeletal disorders.

A key component of what we do is train practitioners. We provide them with the knowledge, skills, tools and self-confidence to implement our evidence-based programs.

We educate patients/clients and the public with workbooks, tools and other resources. These can be used in conjunction with the care provided by a  trained practitioner or on a self-directed basis.

We do this by:

1) Conducting hands-on workshops for practitioners

2) Providing comprehensive step-by-step online programs/courses for practitioners and the public.

All profits from Spinemobility are reinvested to support our research programs.

Why have we failed to find a solution to back and musculoskeletal pain?

One reason is that traditional approaches to treatment have focused on the pain and its short-term control. Back pain and neck pain are highly recurrent problems. Among people experiencing back pain, up to 40% will have another episode within 12 months. Traditional approaches have largely failed to accommodate high-risk subgroups, those requiring specialized treatment.

We focus on the multi-faceted aspects of the condition, tailor treatment and provide patients with the skill, knowledge and self-confidence to maximize function, reduce recurrences and risk of disability for life.
