The Online Boot Camp Program Courses are evidence-based self-management training programs delivered online for individuals with spinal and other musculoskeletal conditions. Dr. Carlo Ammendolia, an Associate Scientist and Director of the Spine Clinic and Spinal Stenosis Program at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto, Canada design the 6-week programs.

The overall goal of each of the programs is to train individuals how to best reduce pain and disability, maximize functional abilities, and improve overall quality of life. Each of the online courses consists of an online instructional workbook, video, and step-by-step implementation guide.

What will I learn from these courses?

Knowledge About My Condition –  learn to better understand your condition, break down myths about pain and activity, build self-confidence, provide realistic expectations, and learn how to control pain and prevent future disability.

Exercises-  learn condition specific exercises to restore alignment, mobility, strength and endurance and improve overall fitness for life.

Self-management –  learn strategies to reduce pain and improve function, reduce anxiety and fear, translate your exercises into daily activities, and learn how to maintain proper alignment and posture.

How will they help me?

Over a period of 6-weeks, each online program will provide you with the knowledge, skill, and self-confidence to help you successfully manage your condition for life. You will learn a specific set of exercises and self-management strategies that are integrated into your daily routine.

Which is better?  Doing the program on my own or with a trained practitioner? 

A trained practitioner will provide individual instruction and supervision combined with manual therapy.  This approach will likely provide superior outcomes, although the self-directed Online Boot Camp Program Course can provide meaningful and worthwhile improvements.
